Home content insurance will protect you against all kinds of risks. You must also keep a detailed record of the dates on which you have visited your buy to let property. For instance, if you wish to collect rent, you must ensure the building is in good condition. You must also make sure that you maintain your property in a good state of repair. Failing to do so may cause the insurer to make deductions for wear and tear or gradual deterioration when you make a claim on your insurance policy.

Landlord building insurance benefits are galore. Every landlord must have a landlord building insurance.
If the property is unoccupied for more than 30 days, theft, attempted theft, malicious damage, escape of water, escape of oil, accidental damage to fixed glass, double glazing, sanitary fixtures will be excluded from this policy. A standard excess of £250 will apply to all claims for occupied properties other than for subsidence where the excess is £1,000 unless agreed otherwise.
