In case, the property is not occupied for a long time, the insurer will pay any accommodation costs to house your tenant(s) temporarily elsewhere. You must also keep a detailed record of the dates on which you have visited your buy to let property, for example to collect the rent, and whether it was in good condition. Unless agreed otherwise, a standard excess of £250 will apply to all claims for occupied properties other than for subsidence where the excess is £1,000.
Making a claim is easy. Your policy will be reviewed annually and you are free to cancel a policy at any time.
